REPENT AND PRAY

Updated: May 27, 2022

“The time has come, he said. The Kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!”

From the Old Testament, in 2nd Chronicles 7:14 “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble

themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven,

and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” until the end, in Revelation 2:5 “Consider how far you

have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first. If you do not repent, I will come to you and

remove your lampstand from its place.” and in Revelation 3:19 “Those whom I love I rebuke and

discipline. So be earnest and repent.” the Word is pleading and urging us to turn from sin and repent.

However, we also see the hard hearts of His people, Psalm 31: 11-14 “But my people would not listen to

me; Israel would not submit to me. So, I gave them over to their stubborn hearts to follow their own

devices. If my people would only listen to me, if Israel would only follow my ways how quickly I would

subdue their enemies and turn my hand against their foes.” Saints, I cannot press hard enough that we

need to confess our short comings and cry out the Lord not only that we might receive his mercy and

grace but also those around us. We, our fellow countrymen, our brothers, and sisters in Christ, and our

neighbors, are at a precipice and we all need the Lord and need true repentance to get right with our

Savior and Judge. The government, our thoughts, our views, and conversations shared with others, nor

our votes and money to support political parties, nothing but true repentance, will change our society,

our nations, our destiny. See Daniel 9: 3-19 and pray accordingly. “in the past God overlooked such

ignorance, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent,” Acts 17:30, the time to repent and

seek God is now.

PRAYER:

Father, we come to you in the name of Jesus, we ask that you have mercy on us, our nation, and

your church, we ask for forgiveness for our transgressions, our iniquities, and our sins. We pray for our

church pastors, leaders, and the congregations. Deliver us from all evil, protect and lead us, our

children, our communities, our nation. Open our spiritual eyes, give us wisdom and understanding

show us our ways that are contrary to who you are and lead us to paths of righteousness. We beg for

your mercy, forgive us for going our own way, we need you, Lord. Open the eyes of the blind and the

deceived, and lead them to yourself. We pray you would give us the wisdom, boldness, and

understanding we need to walk closely with you and be a light to this dark world. Guide us that we

would love you and your people and that we would love what you love and hate what you hate. We

give you thanks and praise your wonderful and Holy Name, In Jesus name we pray, AMEN

We must continue to press in and pray that Roe versus Wade will be overturned and not rely on “the leak.” Pray for Samuel Alito, Brett Kavanaugh, Clarence Thomas, Neil Gorsuch and Amy Coney Barrett to be steadfast in their decision and pray protection over them, their families, and their positions. Also pray for John Roberts to vote to overturn Roe v. Wade and that Elena Kagen and Sonia Sotomayer will have changed hearts and vote to stop the killing of babies.
