Pray for Our Shepherds

As we stand with the Ukrainians, praying that war would not invade their country. As we lift up Canada, where governmental controls threaten to increase and the Freedom Convoy, protesting the mandatory Covid vaccine, are being injured by law enforcers and arrested, we need to pray for our nations.
A shepherd, a person who herds and takes care of sheep, a leader of a group, one who tends to, herds, guards, and leads. Our national, country, state, and local leaders should be shepherds for the people they serve. They should guard, protect, and lead in ways that are good for their flock. In Jerimiah 23:1 it states, “Woe to the shepherds who are destroying and scattering the sheep of my pasture” declares the Lord.” With leadership comes responsibility to the people you are leading, it should not be a venue for building wealth, power, and fame. “People who have wealth but lack understanding are like the beast that perish.” Psalm 49:20. Matthew identifies wealth, material goods, and power to treasures, “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth where moth and rust destroy, where thieves break in and steal.” Matthew 6:19. Use your treasures on earth to benefit others as we will not take it with us when we depart from this earth. As we pray for those who are being oppressed, may we also pray for all governmental leaders that they may lead with discernment, wisdom, and righteousness and not for self-gain.
Pray for Ukraine. Pray for Canada. Pray for all nations.
