- Pray for those facing loss as natural disasters continue worldwide. Libya was hit by the low-pressure system that hit Greece a couple of weeks ago bringing extensive rainfall and flooding. Two dams broke, due to the flooding, washing away whole neighborhoods. Possible death toll at 5,000 and up to 20,000 people missing. Hong Kong also experienced flooding as they received their “heaviest rains in over 140
years.” Last week’s earthquake, in Morocco, listed as their deadliest tremor in decades. The death toll is nearing 3,000 people with thousands more injured and left homeless. Pray for these hurting countries and those that have lost loved ones and homes. Now is the time to build your hope in the sure foundation of the Lord, as none of us know when disaster may strike.
Matthew 7:24-27 – “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wiseman who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”
- Pray for those with addictions, that they may escape the hold it has on their lives. Pray for protection over your loved ones to make good choices and be drug free. Worthy News reported last week, “The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime reported that trafficking of the highly addictive methamphetamine synthetic drug has skyrocketed in Afghanistan.” In 2021 a ban was placed on heroin in Afghanistan which has led to an intensified production and trade increase of methamphetamine. Let people find refuge in the Lord and not in the lies of addiction. Pray for those that manufacture and sell this drug to stop, repent, and come to Jesus.
Proverbs 1:10 – “My son, if sinners entice you, do not give in to them.”
Proverbs 10:29 – “The way of the Lord is a refuge for the righteous, but it is the ruin of those who do evil.”
- Pray for your children and take a stand to protect their innocence. Two headlines from Worthy News, this past week (United States): “States battle over whether parents should be informed on their children’s gender choices” and “California assembly names August “Transgender History Month” becomes nation’s first official recognition.”
Proverbs 22:6 – “Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not turn from it.”
Deuteronomy 6:6-7 – “These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.”
- Please continue to pray for protection and elephant control for Sons of Thunder in Zambia,
Africa. The elephants destroy crops and can be dangerous and life threatening. High
powered electric fences are being installed to turn them away, pray for success.
Continue to pray for Ukraine.
