- Pray for the Middle East.
Regional tensions could reach a tipping point soon. Agreements between the United States and Iran remain unclear. Thursday night the US launched retaliating strikes against Iran after attacks were made on US Navy destroyers transiting the Strait of Hormuz. The US has sent Israel and other Middle East allies additional military supplies and Israel has strengthened its air squadrons. Pray for an end to this fighting, for righteous leadership in Iran, and for a decline in oil prices.
Proverbs 14:22 – “Do not those who plot evil go astray? But those who plan what is good find love and faithfulness.”
- Pray for Christians in Iran.
As conflict, persecution, and threats of war continue in Iran, the Underground Church is thriving. There is a spiritual movement beneath the surface, and the church is growing stronger amid chaos. “Many believers are boldly sharing their faith during this time of crisis” reported Worthy News. Pray for Christians to continue to tell others the Good News and that many will come to Jesus.
Proverbs 14:32 – “When calamity comes, the wicked are brought down, but even in death the righteous have a refuge.”
- Pray for Indonesian Christians.
Pray for safety and strength as more protests come against Christian worship. Construction of a Christion Prayer House was halted due to Muslin resident protests. Even though necessary documents and procedures had been followed, the constructure was ordered to stop. Indonesian is the largest Muslim-majority nation and Christians often face obstacles in attempts to established places of worship despite constitutional protections guaranteeing religious freedom. Pray for true freedom of worship in Indonesian and worldwide. Praise the Lord if you live where you can freely and openly worship God.
Matthew 5:10 – “Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”
- Pray for an end to the Russian/Ukrainian War.
Drone strikes continue between Russia and Ukraine showing no signs to the end of a war heading into its fifth year. Thousands of lives lost, homes and businesses destroyed, facilities providing public utilities, and military bases left incapacitated.
Pray for an end of the loss of life and community, pray for the war to cease.
Matthew 5:9 – “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God.
Ephesians 4:31,32 – “Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.:
- Pray for America as she celebrates 250 years of independence.
Join and/or pray for A National Day to Rededicate American Back to God, on Sunday, May 17th, on the National Mall in Washington D.C. Pray for the believers, as they gather from across the nation, for prayer, repentance, communion, and consecration as America marks the 250th anniversary as a nation. As President Trump, calls for a rededication of American back to God he also calls on Jewish Americans, to be joined by citizens of all backgrounds, for a National Shabbat Observance from sundown on May 15 through nightfall on May 16. This would be part of Jewish American Heritage Month. In honor of 250 years of American Independence, the president is encouraging Americans to “embrace the biblical tradition of rest, reflection, gratitude, and faith during what he described as a historic national moment.”
2 Chronicles 7:14 – “if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”
