- Continue prayer for Vietnam and the Philippines.
Weather conditions continue to plague these countries as Typhoon Bualoi brought floods and landslides killing at least fifty-one people in Vietnam and twenty in the Philippines. 200,000 homes have been damaged or destroyed and more than 87,000 hectares of rice and crops destroyed. Christian charity, Barnabas Aid, is networking with Vietnamese churches to provide emergency aid. Pray for those who have lost loved ones and pray for aid to come through to provide shelter and food for those in need.
Deuteronomy 15:11 – “There will always be poor people in the land. Therefore, I command you to be openhanded toward your brothers and toward the poor and needy in your land.”
- Pray for protection over energy infrastructures.
This past month has seen “a wave of refinery and gas-plant fires across the United States, Europe, and Asia.” This could result in global risks due to aging systems and geopolitical tensions. Pray there will be energy for nations to be sustained.
Proverbs 18:10 – “The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.”
- Pray for the United States Government shutdown to end.
As the U.S. government goes into the fourth week of the shutdown, parties remain at a dead lock. Pray for agreements to be reached so people can go back to work and services can be continued. Not only is this shutdown a hardship for people not working and their families but it may begin to affect organizations that supply food for families in need.
Proverbs 29:2, 4a – “When the righteous thrive, the people rejoice; when the wicked rule, the people groan. By justice, a king gives a country stability.”
- Pray for Gaza.
Fighting resumed last week in southern Gaza after Hamas fired an anti-tank missile at IDF troops in Rafah. Israel called this attack a “blatant ceasefire violation: and launch airstrikes in response. Pray for an end to this conflict.
Psalm 59:1,2 – “Deliver me from my enemies, O God; protect me from those who rise up against me. Deliver me from evildoers and save me from bloodthirsty men.”
- Barnabas Aid will host a twenty-four-hour global online prayer event on November 2nd for persecuted Christians. “According to Open Doors, 2025 World Watch List, over 380 million Christians face persecution or discrimination for their faith worldwide.” Consider joining this online prayer event and/or continue to lift Christians brothers and sisters worldwide who are facing persecution.
Psalm 60:11,12 – “Give us aid against the enemy, for the help of ma is worthless. With God we will gain the victory, and he will trample down our enemies.”
Matthew 5:10 – “Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”
- Continue to pray for abortion to end everywhere. Continue to pray for Israel.
