- Pray for the Middle East.
President Trump (US) has signed a memorandum of understanding with Iran moving towards a peace agreement. Many view it as a “Pause for Peace” and are skeptical of this memorandum as Iran refuses to release nuclear material and will not include their missile program to be negotiated. Pray for wisdom as negotiations continue and for God’s hand in this situation.
Psalm 121:1,2 – “I lift up my eyes to the hills, where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.”
Proverbs 1:7 – “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline.”
- Pray for those that mourn.
In Hungary eight people were killed in two traffic accidents on a main highway between Budapest and Vienna, Austria. The accidents were linked to road construction with inadequate safety measures. Pray for the families of lost loved ones.
In Brazil six people killed in a helicopter collision, pray for the families.
In Southern California, (US), a B-52 bomber crashed after taking off from Edwars Air Force Base, on a test mission, killing eight people. Pray for the families who have lost loved ones.
Mathew 5:4 – “Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.”
Lamentations 3:22 – “Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed for his compassions never fail.”
- Pray for Ukraine and Russian war to end.
A Russian missile drone attack on an ancient cathedral in Kyiv, last week, left dozens dead and damaged the 11th century Christian landmark. Later in the week, Ukraine launched a major drone attack on Moscow, targeting energy facilities. Pray for this continuing war to cease.
Psalm 119:36,37 – “Turn my heart toward your statutes and not toward selfish gain. Turn my eyes away from worthless things; preserve my life according to your word.”
- Pray against all forms of Christian persecution.
In China, crackdowns continue on unregistered Protestant congregations. Despite government controls and persecutions, church closures, and arrests, China remains home to one of the largest Christians populations in the world. Pray for the Christians throughout China that they can stand firm and continue to spread the Good News of Jesus.
In the United States, it is becoming more apparent that “Freedom of Speech” is okay if politically correct, however, beware of Christian expression. Several Major League Baseball players were given warnings after writing Bible verses on their baseball caps that depicted a rainbow-colored team logo for the event. Pray for Christians in the US to not only appreciate their freedom, but to stand up for Christ in these days of compromise.
Psalm 125:1 – “Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be shaken but endures forever.”
1 Corinthians 16:13 – “Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous, be strong.”
- Praise Report.
Approximately sixty thousand people gathered for a four-day Pentecost celebration/revival. There was a powerful display of spiritual hunger and a historic movement of the Holy Spirit. Pray for unity of the church in Europe as it is being increasingly described as a post-Christian area, through some countries they are seeing a fresh hunger for God.
Acts 1:8 – “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit come on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
- Pray for Fathers.
Father’s Day is being celebrated today. Pray for fathers to begin or renew their relationship with God and that they will be a blessing to their children. Be thankful for your earthly father and more thankful for our Heavenly Father, who loves us, cares for us, and desire relationship with us.
Proverbs 20:7 – “The righteous lead blameless lives; blessed are their children after them.”
Ephesians 6:4 – “Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.”
Matthew 7:9-11 – “Which of you, if his sons asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him.”
- Continue to pray for abortion to end everywhere. Continue to pray for Israel.
