-          Pray for the Philippines and Vietnam.

Typhoon Kalmaegi forced mass evacuations in Central Philippines bringing torrential rains, intense winds, storm surges, and flooding everywhere. This deadliest natural disaster of the year has left at least one hundred, fourteen people dead and twenty-seven hundred missing. Then the typhoon slammed into Vietnam causing over 500,000 to evacuate as floodwaters rose and landslides loomed.

Pray for the people who have lost loved ones and their homes and pray for the countries to rebuild after this devastating storm.    

Psalm 33:20,21 – “We wait in hope for the Lord; he is our help and our shield. In him our hearts rejoice for we trust in his holy name.”

 

-          Pray for Afghanistan.

An earthquake hit in Northern Afghanistan killing at least twenty people and injuring over six hundred thirty others. Christian aid workers are mobilizing in relief efforts to assists those in need. Pray for those who lost loved ones, for healing for those injured, and for the Christian workers. Afghanistan ranks #2 on the Open Doors World Watch List as the most dangerous place to be a Christian. Pray for the Christians who reside in Afghanistan and for those offering aid.

Romans 8:35-37 – “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written; For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered. No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.”

 

-          Continue Prayers for Nigerian Christians.

United States President Trump has directed the Department of War to prepare for possible action in Nigeria to target Islamic militant attacks on Christians. He is insistent that the Nigerian government protect Christians. Nigerian President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu has indicated openness to meet with President Trump. Pray that agreements can be met and hearts changed to end the persecution of Christians and other targeted groups in Nigeria.

Psalm 68:1-3 – “May God arise, may his enemies be scattered; may his foes flee before him. As smoke is blown awa by the wind, may you blow them away; as wax melts before the fire, may the wicked perish before God. But may the righteous be glad and rejoice before God; may they be happy and joyful.”

 

-          Pray for those who lost loved ones and those injured in the following places:

Mexico – a discount store fire killed at least twenty-three people and dozens injured,

Bosnia – a retirement home fire killed eleven and injured over thirty more people.

India – seven people dead after a passenger train crashed into a cargo train.

Kentucky (U.S.) – thirteen killed and dozens injured when a UPS (United Parcel Service) Cargo plane crashed.

              Pray for all those mourning loved ones and those in need of healing.

2 Corinthians 1:3,4 – “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.”

 

-          Pray for the Middle East.

Pray that the strides being pursued through the implementation of an International Stabilization Force in Gaza for peace in the Middle East and Gaza’s long-term reconstruction and for the Abraham Accords to build bridges between Jewish and Muslim- majority nations as Kazakhstan recently officially joined. Pray for these actions to support peace and coexistence in the Middle East and will have worldwide effects. 

Romans 12:18 – “If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.”

Matthew 5:9 – Blessed are the peacemaker, for they will be called sons of God.”

 

-          Pray for the family of Former Vice President Dick Cheney.

Dick Cheney passed away at age 84. He is remembered as “the chief architect of the “War on Terror” launched after the 9/11 attacks on the United States. Remember his wife, Lynne, and their daughters at this time of loss.

              Matthew 5:4 – “Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.

 

 -          Continue to pray for abortion to end everywhere. Continue to pray for Israel.
