- Pray for and with Israel
Continue to pray for Israel as the war with Hamas continues. Pray protection over the innocent and pray for many to come to Christ. Thousands in Israel have put aside political differences and gathered to pray at the Western Wall in Jerusalem, let us around the world join them in prayer.
John 8: 31-32 – “To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teachings, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth and the truth will set you free.”
John 16:33 – “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this
world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
- Pray for the Jewish People
Jewish people are being attacked on many sides. In the United States, the FBI has reported “…historic levels of antisemitism”. Jews are being targeted and attacked in the Dagestan region of Russia, in London and in Turkey, and by “pretty much every terrorist organization across the spectrum.”, since the Israel – Hamas war has spiked.
Isaiah 65:9-10 – “I will preserve a remnant of the people of Israel and of Judah to possess my land. Those I choose will inherit it, and my servants will live there. The plain of Sharon will again be filled with flocks for my people who have searched for me, and the valley of Achor will be a place to pasture herds.”
- Pray for Taiwan
Pray as China continues to carry out military drills around the self-ruled island of Taiwan. Worthy News reported forty-three war planes and seven naval vessels from China carried out drills near Taiwan this past week.
Psalm 37:1-3 – “Do not fret because of evil men or be envious of those who do wrong; for like the grass they will soon wither, like green plants they will soon die away. Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.”
Matthew 16:26 – “What good will it be for a man if he gains the whole world, yet
forfeits his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul?”
- Pray for the appointment for Chair of United Nations Human Rights Council
According to Worthy News, “the Islamic Republic of Iran is set to become the new chair of the United Nations Human Rights Council…” Iran’s reputation of extreme violence and oppression against its own people and being a leading sponsor of terrorism worldwide would certainly appear an unlikely choice to chair a Human Rights Council. UN Watch has launched a social media campaign against this selection. Pray that a terrorist county would not be placed in this position.
1 Timothy 2:1-4 – “I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession, and
thanksgiving be made for everyone, for kings and all those in authority, that we may live
peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good and pleases God our
Savior, who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.”
- Pray against FEAR
Wars and rumors of wars, catastrophe weather events, violence and persecution, and the rising cost of living, combined with many other concerns in life cause people to fear and to become depressed and hopeless. Jesus tells us repeatedly, in scripture, that His Father cares for us and we are not to walk in fear but in the victory of Jesus. Let us not display a spirit of fear but a light to shine for the Lord to those around us.
Joshua 1:9 – “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord you God will be with you wherever you go.”
Proverbs 29: 25 – “Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe.”
Psalm 118:6 – “The Lord is with me; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?”
