- Pray for people around the world experiencing and suffering from devasting natural disasters and extreme weather conditions.

• Heavy rains in New Delhi, India is causing flooding and landslides leaving a path of destruction and twenty-three dead. Dozens are dead in Himachal Pradesh since the monsoon season began in June.

• A deadly heatwave in part of Southern Europe and North-West Africa brings record breaking temperatures reaching 104 degrees and Italy could see a high of 119 degrees. Hot temperatures have caused multiple deaths in past years, and more are expected with these extreme temperatures.

• In the United States, tornadoes and thunderstorms battered the Chicago, IL area this past week causing a halt to air traffic and structural damage. Historic flooding is occurring in the state of Vermont with people being displaced and countless power outages.

• -In Corcoran, CA thousands of acres of farmland are under water due to torrents of rain this past winter. With summer comes the melting snow piled on the Sierra Nevada and could triple the size of the flooding. Much of the cropland has been completely flooded and destroyed. This flooding and loss will result in food shortages, loss of jobs, and destruction of homes and property.

Pray for those who have lost loved ones, homes, and jobs. Pray for relief from heat, storms, and flooding. Pray for food supplies to be available even with this loss of cropland.

Jeremiah 17:17 – “Do not be a terror to me; you are my refuge in the day of disaster.”

Isaiah 43:2 – “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when

you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the

fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.”

- Pray for first responders, our firefighters, emergency medical technicians, police officers and our military. Pray for their protection, wisdom, and peace as they work to help those in need of rescue. Rescuers were praised when they quickly extinguished a fire at an Italian Elderly Home housing 167 people. The fire did produce a vast quantity of toxic fumes and six people were killed and eighty injured, but many survived unharmed because of the firefighter’s quick response.

Galatians 4:14 – “Even though my illness was a trial to you, you did not treat me with

contempt or scorn.”

Galatians 6:2 – Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way, you will fulfill the law of

Christ.”

- Pray for Pakistani Christians as they have threatened that “no Church and no Christian will remain safe in Pakistan.” This threat came when Islamic terrorist were enraged at the burning of the Quran in Sweden outside a Stockholm’s central masque by an Iraqi Christian refugee who wants to see the Quran banned.

Philippians 1:20 – “I eagerly expect and hope that I will in no way be ashamed, but will

have sufficient courage so that now as always Christ will be exalted in my body, whether

by life or by death.”
