- Pray for countries experiencing natural disasters.

Pray for Japan as a powerful 7.6 earthquake hit on New Year’s Day, claiming sixty-two lives, to date, causing three-foot waves from a tsunami, sparking fires, destroying roads, and collapsing buildings. Pray for those who have lost loved ones and for those needing shelter. Bringing in the New Year, Indonesia experienced five volcano eruptions. Pray for the thousands of people evacuated from their homes.

Psalm 46:1-3 – “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore, we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its water roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging.”

- Prayer and Praise needed for recent airliner crash in Japan.

Pray for the families of five coast guards who lost their lives when their aircraft collided with a passenger plane. The coast guards were helping victims from the recent earthquake. Lift a praise to God for protecting the 379 passengers who escaped the burning plane involved in the crash.

Matthew 5:4 – “Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.”

Psalm 105:1-2 – “Give thanks to the Lord, call on his name; make known among the nations what he has done. Sing to him, sing praise to him; tell of all his wonderful acts.”

- Pray for wisdom in the United States southern border issue.

As people continue to flee from Mexico into the United States, give the government wisdom and discernment on how to monitor and control this situation. Protect the United States from an influx of evil men who threaten the security and safety of the US citizens. Let those in need of refuge and help be received accordingly.

Proverbs 4:5-8 – “Get wisdom, get understanding; do not forget my words or swerve from them. Do not forsake wisdom, and she will protect you; love her, and she will watch over you. Wisdom is supreme; therefore, get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding. Esteem her, and she will exalt you; embrace her, and she will honor you.”

1 Kings 3:9 – “So give your servant a discerning heart to govern your people and to distinguish between right and wrong For who is able to govern this great people of yours?”

Deuteronomy 10:17-18 – “For the Lord your God is God of gods and Lord of lords, the great God, mighty and awesome who shows no partiality and accepts no bribes. He defends the cause of the fatherless and the widow, and loves the alien, giving him food and clothing.”

- Pray against World War III becoming a reality.

Tensions are rising in the Middle East. “Iranian militias have attacked American bases in Syria and Iraq at least 118 times since October 7th .” Apparently there have been no deaths but sixty- six injuries, pray for the United States military. Israel is in readiness in the north, at the Lebanon border, and “Hezbollah leader, Hassan Nasrallah warns of a “very costly” war “without limits” if the situation erupted into a full-scale conflict.” Pray protection for the Israel military. Tehran’s race toward obtaining nuclear weapons is advancing. “Israel foreign minister has warned a “Third World War against Iran and radical Islam.” Prayer is needed to thwart the plans of evil and turn these compiling factors away from war. Pray for wisdom in world leaders and pray for all to come to know the Lord and seek him as our refuge. (quotes from Worthy News articles)

Psalm 2:1,2,10-12 – “Why do the nations conspire, and the peoples plot in vain? The kings of the earth take their stand and the rulers gather together against the Lord and against his Anointed One. Therefore, you kings, be wise; be warned, you rulers of the earth. Serve the Lord with fear and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and you be destroyed in your way, for his wrath can flare up in a moment. Blessed are all who take refuge in him.”

Hebrews 10:23 – “Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.”
