- Pray for an end to domestic violence.
Pray for those mourning the deaths of five children and four adults and for those injured in a knife attack in Suriname, northeastern South America. The suspect allegedly conducted this attack after an argument with his estranged wife. Those killed included his own children and neighbors. This draws attention to the issue of domestic violence, pray for peace in families.
Ephesians 5:25 – “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her.”
Ephesians 6:4 – “Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.”
- Pray for Russian Ukraine war to end.
Peace talks continue along with massive missile and drone attacks. Russian President Putin reported to Russian media “that Moscow would achieve all its objectives by force if Ukraine refused what he described as peaceful settlement.”
Pray for wisdom for these leaders and that negotiation and peace can be achieved soon.
Luke 12:48b – “From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.”
Romans 12:18 – “If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.”
- Pray for Taiwan.
China conducted its largest live fire military drill firing rockets around Taiwan last week, escalating tension. Japan’s, defense ministry called the drill “a serious concern for regional stability,” as some projectiles landed close to its maritime security zone. Pray for protection in this region from continued aggression from China.
Psalm 3, 4-6 – “You are not a God who takes pleasure in evil; with you the wicked cannot dwell The arrogant cannot stand in your presence; you hate all who do wrong. You destroy those who tell lies; bloodthirsty and deceitful men the Lord abhors.”
- Pray for Switzerland.
Mourn with Switzerland as a New Year Eve’s fire killed several dozen people and injured one hundred fifteen others at a ski-resort bar. Pray for the families who lost loved ones, for those injured, and that governments everywhere will heed the call for tougher safety measures in public facilities.
Matthew 5:4 – “Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.”
- Continue to pray for abortion to end everywhere. Continue to pray for Israel.
