-          Pray for those facing natural disasters.

Chile, South America – wildfires in the central and southern regions have left eighteen people dead, caused mass evacuations, and have destroyed hundreds of homes.

Australia’s East Coast – battered by summer storms, one person dead, many evacuated, and thousands left without power. Record rainfall has caused flooding and landsides and more rain is expected.

United States – dangerous winter storm is blasting through the south and headed up the east coast, bringing record numbers of snow accumulation, ice, and low temperatures that will delay a meltdown.

Pray for those who have lost loved ones, for those who have lost their homes, for those evacuated, and for those facing storms.

John 16:33 – “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

 

-          Pray for abducted Christians in Nigeria.

Approximately one hundred seventy-five Christians were kidnapped while attending services at three different churches. Several of those abducted were able to escape. Security agencies are looking for the kidnappers, suspected Muslim gunmen, and to rescue those being held captive. Pray for their release and safe return. Pray for Christians in Nigeria as the persecution continues.

Romans 5:3-5 – “. . . but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.

 

-          Pray for Spain.

Another rail accident occurred in Spain last week when two high-speed trains collided killing thirty-nine and injuring one hundred seventy people. Pray for those who have lost loved ones and for those injured.

Psalm 34:18 – “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”

 

-          Continue prayers for Iran.

Pray for righteous leadership in this country, pray for the end of the drought causing power shortages, and pray for the crackdown on protester to end, the killing, and the arrests. Pray for the Christians in Iran. Despite arrests, surveillance, and threat of imprisonment, Iran is home to one of the fastest growing Christian movements in the world.

1st Peter 4:12,13 – “Dear friends, do not be surprised at the painful trial you are suffering, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice that you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed.”

 

-          Continue prayers for the people of Ukraine.

As missile and drone attacks continue to bombard Ukraine, damaging critical infrastructure, much of Kyiv is without power, water, and heat as they are faced with subzero temperatures. Humanitarian concerns grow as this war continues.

Isaiah 40:31 – “But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not be faint.”

 

     

 -          Continue to pray for abortion to end everywhere. Continue to pray for Israel.
