- Pray “your kingdom come.”
“One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When he finished, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples.” He said to them, “When you pray, say: Father hallowed be your name, your kingdom come. Give us each day our daily bread. Forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone who sins against us. And lead us not into temptation.” Luke 11:1-2
Let this be our prayer for the New Year, may God’s Kingdom Come. Let us pray the prayer Jesus gave His disciples. Let us walk in humility, give praise and thanksgiving to our Father, and be bold in our walk with Jesus.
- Pray for those who mourn and those who persevere.
Pray for family and friends of the 160 Christians killed on Christmas Eve in the Central Plateau State of Nigeria in 15 Christian villages. Pray for the thousands that were forced to flee their homes. As people around the world celebrated Christmas Eve worshiping and being with family, nomadic herders murdered these Christians in Nigeria. Per Worthy News, Open Doors, an international Christian advocacy organization said, “Attacks by Islamic militant groups have increased consistently since 2015 but the government has failed to prevent the rise in violence, which affects all Nigerians, but particularly Christians.”
Mark 13:13 – “All men will hate you because of me, but he who stands firm to the end
will be saved.”
- Pray for wars to cease.
Per Worthy News, “Israel has long warned about the nuclear program of Iran, which supports groups dedicated to the destruction of the Jewish nations, such as Hamas, Hezbollah, and Houthis.” Concerns rise as Iran gets closer to production of potential nuclear weapons, as the confirmation of weapon-grade uranium increases. Pray for wars to end for “Peace on Earth” and pray to keep the peace of Jesus in your hearts.
Psalm 122:6-7 – “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: “May those who love you be secure. May there be peace within your walls and security within your citadels.” (in Jerusalem and around the world)
John 14:27 – “I am leaving you with a gift – peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give isn’t fragile like the peace the world gives So don’t be troubled or afraid.”
- Pray.
Make 2024 a year of Prayer.
Happy New Year!
Continue to pray for Ukraine.
