- Pray for the Congo (Democratic Republic of the Congo – DRC)
Continue to pray for those facing violence in Congo. Pray for those mourning the loss of over two hundred people that were killed when several mines collapsed last week due to a landslide.
Psalm 68:5 – “A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling.”
Matthew 5:4 – “Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.”
- Pray against the spread of the Nipah virus.
Cases of the Nipah virus have been reported in India. This is a highly lethal virus transmitted to humans by fruit bats. Pray for healing for those that have been affected by this virus, pray against another worldwide epidemic, and pray against fear.
Psalm 91:2,3 – “I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust. Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence.”
Psalm 27:1 – “The Lord is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life, of whom shall I be afraid?”
- Pray for Ukraine and Russia, an end to war.
As negotiations continued so did Russian drone strikes on Southeastern Ukraine, killing at least fifteen people last Sunday. A positive report is that Ukraine and Russia have agreed to exchange one hundred fifty-seven, prisoners from each side.
Pray for this war to end.
Psalm 10:15-18 – “Break the arm of the wicked and evil man; call him to account for his wickedness that would not be found out. The Lord is King for ever and ever; the nations will perish from his land. You hear, O Lord, the desire of the afflicted; you encourage them, and you listen to their cry, defending the fatherless and the oppressed, in order that man, who is of the earth, may terrify no more.”
- Pray for the Middle East.
As tensions continue to rise in the Middle East, pray for wisdom that leaders involved in negotiations and peace talks will bring peace to these war-torn countries.
Proverbs 4:5 – “Get wisdom, get understanding; do not forget my words or swerve from them.”
Proverbs 11:14 – “For lack of guidance a nation falls, but many advisers make victory sure.”
James 1:5 – “If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.”
- Pray for Jewish people in New York City.
Mayor Zohran Mandani’s first month in office saw a drop in gun violence but an increase in Antisemitic hate crimes. Thirty-one of the fifty-eight hate crimes in January of this year were targeted toward Jewish people. Pray for the Jewish people as they are on edge due to the spike in attacks on the Jewish community.
Psalm121:1-4 – “I lift up my eyes to the hills, where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. He will not let your foot slip, he who watches over you will not slumber; indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.”
- Continue to pray for abortion to end everywhere. Continue to pray for Israel.
