- Pray for safety at the Winter Olympics.
The 2026 Winter Olympics opened in Italy amid budget pressures and Geopolitical tensions. Pray for the safety of participants as the competitions continue and for the safety of all administrators and spectators as the events proceed.
Psalm 91:1-4 – “He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress, my God in who I trust. Surely, he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge, his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.”
- Pray for countries facing natural disasters.
Pray for North Africa and southern Europe as powerful storms killed numerous people and over 160,000 residents were evacuated.
Pray for Madagascar where at least thirty-one people were killed and over thirty injured when Tropical Cyclone Gezani hit the island with 121 mile per hour winds prompting warnings of flooding and landslides. Over 6,000 residents have been displaced from their homes.
Pray for all those who mourn the loss of loved ones, pray for healing for those injured, and pray for shelter and provision for those who have lost or been evacuated from their homes.
Isaiah 54:10 – “Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed, says the Lord, who has compassion on you.”
- Pray for the end of the Russia/Ukraine War.
As Russia intensifies attacks on energy infrastructure in Ukraine, concerns grow beyond military and humanitarian consequences, as these attacks could trigger effects affecting all of Europe. European energy security and nuclear safety could be at risk.
Isaiah 41:10 – “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. II will strengthen you and help you. I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
- Pray for Canada and Pakistan as violence leaves many mourning due to death and injury.
A mass shooting at a secondary school and surrounding residences in British Columbia, Canada, left nine people dead, including the shooter and at least twenty-seven injured. Pray for the families, friends, and the school, as they mourn the loss of loved ones and pray healing for those injured.
Also pray for those in Pakistan who mourn at least thirty-one people killed from a deadly Mosque bombing last Friday. One hundred sixty-nine others were injured when an attack happened at the place of worship. Join with Pakistani Christians as they pray for the families of the victims, as “Pakistan belongs to all citizens.”
Proverbs 3:31,32 – “Do not envy a violent man or choose any of his ways., for the Lord detests a perverse man but takes the upright into his confidence.”
Isaiah 61:1,2 – “The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn.”
