- Keep praying for Maui. As fires continue to burn around the island, though most are contained,
much prayer is needed. At least one hundred eleven people are dead and approximately a thousand people are not accounted for currently. Over two thousand homes and businesses have been destroyed. Pray for all as they walk through this time of loss.
Matthew 5:4 – “Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.”
- Pray for the people of Norway as heavy rains bring flooding and landslides. The Braskereidfoss dam collapsed on the Glomma River where seven to eight hundred people were evacuated from the area. Over three thousand people have been evacuated throughout Norway as rivers rise and homes and businesses were flooded or swept away by landslides.
Luke 17:27 – “People were eating, drinking, marrying and being given in marriage up to the day. Noah entered the ark. Then the flood came and destroyed them all.”
- Lift up prayers for Pakistan, India, and Nigeria where Christian persecution continues. We must continue to pray for all our Christian brothers and sisters around the world that face multiple kinds of persecution because of their faith in Jesus.
Isaiah 61:1-2 – “The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed
me to preach the good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to
proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort
all who mourn,”
- Pray for Israel as tensions heightened on Israel’s border with Lebanon. Pray for protection and
peace.
Romans 12:18 – “If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with
everyone.”
- Per Worthy News and a news report by World Resources Institute, “25 countries, home to 25% of the world’s population, face extremely high water stress every year, using up almost their entire annual supply of water.” According to the report, “global demand for water is exceeding what is available” and this affects 4 billion people. The areas most affected by water-stress are the Middle East, North Africa, and South Asia. Increased demands are the result of “growing populations and industries like irrigated agriculture, livestock, energy production and manufacturing.” There is a lack of investment in water infrastructures, unsustainable water use policies, and climate change that may be causing a lack of this vital resource. Pray that those thirsty physically will have water and that all those who are thirsty spiritually will find Jesus, the Living Water.
John 4:13-14 – “Jesus answered, Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again,
but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him
will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”
Continue to pray for Ukraine.
