- Pray for family and friends of six people who lost their lives in a shooting at Nashville’s Covenant
School in Nashville, Tennessee (US). Prayers also needed for family and friends of nine soldiers
killed in a helicopter crash during a training mission in western Kentucky (US).
Habakkuk 1: 2-5 – “How long, O Lord, must I call for help, but you do not listen? Or cry
out to you, “Violence!” but you do not save? Why do you make me look at injustice?
Why do you tolerate wrong? Destruction and violence are before me; there is strife, and
conflict abounds. Therefore the law is paralyzed, and justice never prevails. The wicked
hem in the righteous, so that justice is perverted. Look at the nations and watch – and
be utterly amazed. For I am going to do something in your days that you would not
believe, even if you were told.”
Nehemiah 1:4 – When I heard these things, I sat down and wept. For some days I
mourned and fasted and prayed before the God of heaven.”
- Pray for Christians in India as it ranks eleventh on the World Watch List of Christian
persecutions. It is reported that despite pressure, to include loss of life, Christians remain
steadfast. Pray for these people of faith and pray that we all remain steadfast.
Psalm 51:10 – “Create in me a pure hear, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within
me.”
1 Corinthians 15:58 – “Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you.
Always give yourselves full to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in
the Lord is not in vain.”
- This past week California (US) was hit with deadly rainstorms, killing twenty-eight people (Pray
for families who lost loved ones) and devastating valuable farmland. Many parts of the world
have suffered with food production due to droughts, natural disasters of various types, disease,
and war. It has also been reported that billions of people around the world experience water
related issues daily, from contaminated drinking water to droughts and floods. The United
Nations fears a risk of a global crisis as “unsustainable water use, pollution, and unchecked
global warming are draining humanity’s lifeblood.” Pray for God to provide food and water to
all nations/peoples in need, as we trust in Him, He is our provider.
Nehemiah 9:15a – “In their hunger you gave them bread from heaven and in their thirst
you brought them water from the rock; . . .”
