Don’t Stop – PRAY

1 Samuel 12:23 “As for me, far be it from me that I should sin against the Lord by failing to pray for you. And I will teach you the way that is good and right.” Samuel was speaking to God’s people who had turned away from the Lord but Samuel knew he must continue to pray for them.

Pastor Jerry Beall encourages us this week to pray for God’s people, “The Church”. In Colossians Paul is writing to God’s holy people in Colossae. He lets them know “. . .since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. . .” Paul prays for the believers in Colossae and as Pastor Jerry shares Colossians 1:9-14 this is how we should all be praying for “The Church”, (the body of believers around the world), today:

• continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and

and understanding that the Spirit gives

• live a life worthy of the Lord

• please him in every way

• bear fruit in every good work

• grow in knowledge of God

• be strengthened with all power according to his glorious might

• have great endurance and patience

• give joyful thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of light.

For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

Let us join with Pastor Jerry and pray for “The Church”.
