- Pray for the Philippines.
An earthquake in the Philippines last week took some lives and injured two hundred people. Buildings were damaged and lives disrupted. Pray for those who lost loved ones and pray for the injured, that they would be healed.
Matthew 5:4 – “Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.”
Matthew 7:24 – “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.”
- Pray for the Jewish people as Antisemitism continues.
Hate crimes surge in London, pray for hearts to change toward Jewish people and Israel.
Jeremiah 16:14-16 – “However, the days are coming declares the Lord, when men will no longer say, As surely as the Lord lives who brought the Israelites up out of Egypt, but they will say As surely as the Lord lives, who brought the Israelites out of the land of the north and out of all the countries where he had banished them. For I will restore them to the land I gave their forefathers. But now I will send for many fishermen, declares the Lord, and they will catch them. After that I will send for many hunters, and they will hunt them down on every mountain and hill and from the crevices of the rocks.”
- Pray for South Africa.
A mass shooting in Johannesburg, South Africa, left twelve dead and nine people wounded. This shooting could be related to rival illegal mining operations which continue to cause much violence in the area.
Proverbs 3:31,32 – “Do not envy a violent man or choose any of his ways, for the Lord detests a perverse man but takes the upright into his confidence.”
- Pray for Ukraine as Russia reject peace talks.
Pray as the war and killings continue as Russia want recognition of Moscow’s control over occupied territories and Ukraine wants internationally recognized borders. Pray for wisdom and humility for leaders and peace.
Proverbs f17:27 – “A man of knowledge uses words with restraint, and a man of understanding is even-tempered.”
- Pray jobs for the people of India.
India is struggling to create jobs for the millions of young people entering the labor market. Despite economic growth and expanding technology, hundreds of millions of Indians continue to live in poverty. Pray for physical and spiritual needs for the people of India.
Psalm 23:1,3,5 – “The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not be in want. He restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil, my cup overflows.”
- Pray for escalating tension in the Middle East to end.
Iran and United State negotiations stall, ceasefires fail to remain in place as strikes continue, and agreements cannot be established. Israel remains on high alert for attacks from Iran and continues to fight against terrorist networks, and Turkey accuses Israel of widening regional conflict. Pray for governments to reach agreements that will serve their countries and citizens well and that they can live in peace.
Matthew24:6-8 – “You will hear of wars and rumors of wars but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth pains.
Romans 12:18 – If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.”
- Pray for Israel.
1 Kings 8:52,53 – “May your eyes be open to your servant’s plea and to the plea of your people Israel, and may you listen to them whenever they cry out to you. For you singled them out from all the nations of the world to by your inheritance, just as you declared through your servant Moses when you, O Sovereign Lord, brought our fathers out of Egypt.”
- Pray for Summer Youth Programs.
As schools let out for the summer, many churches will be holding Bible Schools, Camps, and other programs for youths of all ages. Pray for the leaders to share the Word of God and to show the love of Jesus to these young people. Pray that the children attending will have hearts open to the Holy Spirit and that they will experience Jesus in such a way that they will live changed lives.
John 17:15 – “My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one.”
Proverbs 22:6 – “Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not turn from it.”
- Continue to pray for abortion to end everywhere. Continue to pray for Israel.
