- Pray as tensions rise and war and threats of war remain.
As the Russian/Ukraine war continues, Romania shot down a Russian drone that entered its air space last week and Poland also reported Russian drone missiles in their air space. At least ten people were killed and approximately one hundred injured after a Russian missile struck near Kyiv. Pray for the power struggles to end and for peace in this area.
Also pray for the Middle East as attacks increase. Saudi Arabia has joined US forces after Iran fired ballistic missiles towards a US military base in Jordan. Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and US President Trump met last week and agreed that Iran must never be allowed to acquire nuclear weapons. Gulf nations are increasingly being forced to choose sides as attacks reach into their territories. Pray for the leaders to seek God’s wisdom and act accordingly to bring about peace.
Psalm 22:27,28 – “All the ends of the earth will remember and turn to the Lord, and all the families of the nations will bow down before him, for dominion belongs to the Lord and he rules over the nations.”
- Pray for relief from wildfires and soaring temperatures.
Extreme temperatures, drought, and persistent winds continue to fuel the wildfires as tens of thousands of people fled Spain and Southwestern France to escape the devasting fires. Pray for those who have lost homes and property and pray for the fire fighters who continue to battle the blaze.
Psalm 121:1,2 – I lift up my eyes to the hills, where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.”
- Continue prayers for Nigeria.
Pray for Christians and other vulnerable communities in Nigeria as massacres continue. Multiple attacks occurring last week are believed to have killed over sixty people. The local government leaders send security agencies to identify and arrest those responsible, but the attacks continue. Violence by Islamic extremist groups, suspect Fulani militants, and other jihadist factions cause terror among the vulnerable. Pray for the violence to stop, for hearts to change, and for protection of the violated people in Nigeria.
Psalm 11:5-8- “The Lord examines the righteous, but the wicked and those who love violence his soul hates. On the wicked he will rain fiery coals and burning sulfur; a scorching wind will be their lot. For the Lord is righteous, he loves justice; upright men will see his face.”
- Pray for Japan.
An earthquake in Japan last week, left at lease fourteen people dead. Pray for the families of lost loved ones and pray for the rescue workers.
Romans 12:15a – “mourn with those who mourn.”
- Pray against the increasing Antisemitic violence.
Violence, of varying degrees, against Jewish people has reached its deadliest level in more than thirty years, worldwide. Anti-Jewish hatred has spiraled from fringe movements to everyday life. Pray for Jewish families that are living in fear, intimidations, and bloodshed, for their protection and for their salvation.
Jeremiah 31:35-36 – “This is what the Lord says, he who appoints the sun to shine by day, who decrees the moon and stars to shine by night, who stirs up the sea so that its waves roar, the Lord Almighty is hie name: Only if these decrees vanish from my sight declares the Lord, will the descendants of Israel ever cease to be a nation before me.”
- Continue to pray for abortion to end everywhere. Continue to pray for Israel.
