- Pray for the Russian/Ukrainian War to end.
A Russian hypersonic ballistic missile attack on Kyiv occurred on Pentecost Sunday. This was the heaviest assault since the beginning of the invasion, killing at least four people and injuring one hundred others. As attacks escalate on Ukraine, Russia urges diplomates and foreign resident to leave Kyiv. As war continues, the European Union Defense Commissioner urges European governments to help Ukraine and adopt “peace through strength” to deter Russian aggression. Pray for peace and an end to this war.
Proverbs 15:29 – The Lord is far from the wicked, but he hears the prayer of the righteous.”
- Pray for Ebola virus to be controlled.
As of last week, two hundred four deaths have occurred in the Congo due to the Ebola virus and Uganda also reports infections. Mistrust of medical teams and miscommunication has caused some violence concerning the virus and its threat of infection and death to communities. Pray for this virus to be controlled, for the well-being of those in this infected area, and that it will not spread.
2 Corinthians 1:3,4 – “Praise be to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our trouble, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.”
- Pray for Iran and conflict in the Middle East.
Pray for President Trump and United States allies, as negotiations continue with Iran. Pray that they seek Godly wisdom and do what is right to protect the innocent and stop Iran’s aggression toward the US and surrounding Middle East countries.
Proverbs 15:28 – “The heart of the righteous weighs its answers, but the mouth of the wicked gushes evil.”
- Pray for Nigeria and the end of Christian persecution.
The United States Department of War “is stepping up efforts to protect Christians in Nigeria.” Nigeria has faced years of Islamic terrorist attacks, pray for the momentum to change and that the terrorist groups will be stopped and Christians can worship in peace.
John 16:33 – “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
- Pray for Pakistan.
Twenty people were killed and seventy injured in a train explosion in the Pakistan Balochistan Region. The train, carrying military personnel and their families returning from Ramadan holiday, were targeted by separatist Balochistan Liberation Army and it was described as a suicide bombing. Pray for those who lost family members and pray for recovery of the injured. Pray for the intensified violence between the separatist fighters and Pakistani security to end.
Romans 12:18 – “If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, lie at peace with everyone.”
- Continue to pray for abortion to end everywhere. Continue to pray for Israel.
