- Pray or families.

The Christmas season is here, and it is the time of the year when many focus on families. Some families are filled with joy as they gather to celebrate the birth of the Savior and enjoy one another. However, many families suffer separation from family due to living far apart, unresolved conflicts, or loss of loved ones. Divorce, single parent homes, and abuse, are difficult for families throughout the year, but take a larger toll at Christmas. Pray for your own family, your church family, and pray for families in general. Pray that fathers and mothers will make their home a safe and a welcoming place for their children. Pray that children are protected and taught Godly principles. Pray for God to become the center of families around the world and bring love and peace to family members.

Exodus 10:2 – “that you may tell your children and grandchildren how I dealt harshly with the Egyptians and how I performed my signs among them, and that you may know that I am the Lord.”

Matthew 12:50 – “For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.”

- Pray for the Missionaries.

Pray for protection, provision, and pray for the wisdom and discernment of all those leaving their homes to minister to the nations. Lift them up this Christmas as many may miss family traditions but will be filled with joy as they share the Good News of Christmas with those they have gone out to reach. Let all hearts be open to receive Jesus this Christmas.

Matthew 28: 18-20 – “I have been given all authority in heaven and earth. Therefore, go and make disciples in all the nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you; and be sure of this, that I am with you always, even to the end of the world.”

Luke 2:10-11 – “But the angel said to them, Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord.”

- Pray for Israel.

Israel continues the pursuit of Hamas, which Prime Minster Netanyahu has “…condemned as a Palestinian Islamist “Terrorist organization.” Israel is in this for victory despite the loss of lives and “fading global sympathy.” “Israelis view the war as a fight for the very existence of the Jewish nation…” (See Worthy News 12/15/2023).

Isaiah 41:8-10 – “But you, O Israel, my servant, Jacob, whom I have chosen, you descendants of Abraham my friend, I took you from the ends of the earth, from its farthest corners I called you. I said, “You are my servant;” I have chosen you hand have not rejected you. So do not fear, for I am with you: do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

Psalm 62:8 – Trust in him at all ties, O people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge.”
